Bienvenido a Honduras! (Welcome to Honduras)
Hey guys!! This is Brandy B!! Margaret is sending me the blog to post!! So here it is ❤️❤️
We all arrived safely in Tegucigalpa on Saturday, 6/26/21, by 1:10 pm and were clear of Customs by around 2 pm. As we waited for our last flight to arrive, we celebrated the return to Honduras with cold Fresca. We saw Mark Connell at the airport as well as Evelyn (& Adonis) from Mololoa. Loaded luggage in Tim’s pick-up and headed to lunch at Pupusa restaurant beside Walmart. We ate & then got food for lunches at Walmart.
The fun started when we realized the traffic was not going to ease up for most of the trip to Santa Ana since many travel out of the city during the weekend days. It took a bit more than 2 hours to get out to Agua Viva. But we had a lovely dinner, got unpacked to our rooms, and ended the evening with a devotional. Terry is sharing thoughts on the theme of Joshua 1:9 “Be Strong & Courageous.”
Sunday began with a late breakfast at 8:17 am of fruit, yogurt, cereal, & breakfast muffins. We visited for a bit and then walked to the Santa Ana church for morning worship. The minister shared a lesson based on Lamentations 5:21 and dealing with our need to keep our focus on God so that we can stay on the right track in life. After worship Jen prepared lunch for us and we had a tour of the property and saw the nursery ministry they are working on to help train men in various trades and share the gospel with them as they learn new skills. We also saw the dormitories and clinic areas. The guys then began working on the leveling of an area where the new pulperia / cantina will be built, and the women worked on sorting supplies we brought.
Tomorrow we plan to build a house with funds raised by the Kittanning church of Christ. Two will also be working in the clinic to assist the doctor and pharmacist. (I expect there will be several smiles shared with patients as well)
Please continue to pray that God will use us as He sees fit while we are here and that he will keep us safe and give us strength to complete the work He provides.
We send our love to each of you and thank you all for your support that has allowed us to return to this beautiful people and the children of the King who live here.
