Yesterday we kicked off our trip with a bang: two househuilds, daughters of the king, and a hospital visit. At the house builds rookies got a good first look at the hard work we do here and veterans felt at home as they drove in every nail of the house. The first house was in dedication to Patty Johnson’s father in law, and the second was dedicated to Louise, a woman from Lydia Smith’s church. Daughter’s of the king went amazing; the team treated about 30 little girls to a hair washing and styling, a mani and peti, and a wardrobe change into the cutest little dresses. The hospital team visited with many children all over the hospital and played, read books, drew, and simply talked to them. They also gave out bibles to some of the hospital employees to encourage the word of God. After returning to the villa a team sorted hundreds of clothes and packaged them all up to give out.
Later in the evening we had a wonderful dinner of beans, rice, beef, and plantains and ice cream if you could make it to the booth fast enough.
At Devo, Caleb led us in some amazing worship songs and Chad Chapman shared a great sermon with us (all live-streamed to Facebook!). After rushing to sign-ups we turned in for the night after a long day of work.
Blessings,
Hope
